America’s Best Kids offers dance for all ages beginning with our Creative Movement classes. Creative Movement (3-5 years) teaches motor skills, imagination, coordination, colors, rhythm, self-esteem and children learn how to follow directions. In addition to Creative Movement we have all levels of Dance classes including; Tap; Hip Hop; Jazz; and Ballet. Dance is a wonderful activity that is good for you physically and mentally. And it’s a ton of fun! It's never too late to start.

Creative Movement
(Ages 3-5 years old)

This class is an enrichment program designed to help all boys and girls by:
introduce simple dance steps and vocabulary
develop an appreciation of music
ignite the power and excitement of the imagination
remove inhibitions and social blocks
develop the students self-confidence

Ballet

A dance that is wonderful for lengthening and sculpting muscles, as well as improving posture. Ballet is the ABC’s of dance. It is the form of dance that results from a combination of strength, flexibility, grace, and technique. Ballet focuses on core strengthening and balance to give the dancers a foundation that can be used in any type of dance. (5-14 years)

Tap

Tap is rhythm, steps, and combinations. Our classes are divided by age and skill level. The dance taught is Broadway influenced designed to help your child through the progressions of this discipline.  Tap shoes are required for this class. (6-14 years)

Jazz

One of the unique and original energetic forms of dance that powers music and moves! Students will focus on the stylistic aspect of jazz while learning steps like the Charleston, Jitterbug, Boogie Woogie, and Swing. They will also practice modern jazz dance like what is seen in musical theater, and music videos. Some ballet experience is helpful, but not necessary. (6-14 years)
Hip Hop

Contemporary dances born from the urban culture, that incorporate pop and lock as well as Hip Hop. Our teachers include ‘lyrical dancing’ within this program as well. Using the popular modern music with exciting choreography our students display the confidence in their performances. Within this program we have a dance team of the name of Friction. This group does several performances throughout the year, at venues ranging from malls to fairs.

What to Wear

Girls should wear comfortable clothing that they can move freely in. Leotards and tights, shorts, or capri pants are all acceptable. Boys should wear comfortable clothing that they can also move freely in such as; T-shirts, shorts or sweats. Please no street shoes on the dance floor. Pink, or black, ballet shoes for ballet classes. Jazz and tap shoes for the jazz and tap classes.

Recital

ABK provides an incredible opportunity for our young performers to show friends and family all that they have learned in dance class. We have recitals as well as community performance opportunities. Throughout the year we host two large recitals at venues outside ABK; and we host two ‘in-house’ recitals, called “Pillow Concert” inside our facility.
